2026 Shinkotoni Niban-dori Park (新琴似二番通公園) Water Play Area: Full-Day Course

In summer, a water play area with a water slide appears at Shinkotoni Niban-dori Park (新琴似二番通公園) in Kita-ku, Sapporo. The Shinkotoni Niban-dori Park Water Play Area (Water Slide) is open from Sunday, July 5 to Sunday, August 23, 2026, from 9:00 to 16:00, and admission is free. The slide has two lanes and there is a shallow water play area as well, so children who love sliding and little ones not yet used to the water can both play in the same place. For this day we built the plan around learning how the district of Shinkotoni came to be before heading off for water play. In the morning, visit Shinkotoni Shrine (新琴似神社). On the grounds stands a preserved wooden building that served as the company headquarters of the tondenhei (屯田兵) farmer-soldiers in the pioneer era, letting you see with your own eyes how this town began. Next, move to Noshi Park (農試公園), get moving on the big play equipment and the bicycle practice course, and then have a packed lunch in the shade. In the afternoon, change into swimsuits and return to Shinkotoni Niban-dori Park. The operating period may shift depending on weather conditions, so check whether it is open on the day before you set out.
