2026 Noshi Park Chapu-Chapu Water Plaza: A Full Day Course
A one-day course built around the Noshi Park Chapu-Chapu Water Plaza in Noshi Park (農試公園) in Nishi-ku, Sapporo, enjoyed together with the history of the town of Kotoni. The Chapu-Chapu Water Plaza is open from Monday, June 1, 2026 to Wednesday, September 30, 2026, from 9:00 to 17:00, and admission is free. The shallow pond was renovated in 2023, so even small children can safely get their hands in the water. It is also reassuring that in addition to restrooms and a car park, the grounds include Twin Cap with its indoor play room. In the morning, head to the Kotoni Tondenhei Village Barracks House Site (琴似屯田兵村兵屋跡). This nationally designated historic site preserves a barracks house where farmer-soldiers lived in the Meiji era, and it shows what Kotoni looked like before today's residential streets appeared. Next, pay your respects at Kotoni Shrine (琴似神社) and touch on the path this land walked alongside the farmer-soldiers. In the afternoon, play a while in the indoor play room at Twin Cap, then spend the rest of the time splashing about at the Chapu-Chapu Water Plaza. History, indoor play, and water play all link up within walking distance of Kotoni Subway Station.
