2026 Shinei-Nishi Park Water Play Area: A Full Day Course

A neighborhood outing course that stays entirely within Kiyota Ward (清田区), built around Shinei-Nishi Park Water Play Area, a free water play area in Shinei-Nishi Park (真栄西公園) in Kiyota Ward, Sapporo. According to the City of Sapporo, the season runs from Sunday, July 5, 2026 to Sunday, August 23, 2026, hours are 9:00 to 17:00, open for 50 days starting from the first Sunday of July. Admission is free, and because the water is shallow, even a small child trying water play for the first time can safely dip their feet in. In the morning, visit Hiraoka Park (平岡公園), known for its plum grove. In summer you walk paths and boardwalks wrapped in green, and hunting for wetland creatures and wild birds becomes the highlight for children. For lunch, the food court at AEON Mall Sapporo Hiraoka lets every family member pick their own favorite, and you can also pick up a bag for wet clothes or extra drinks here. In the afternoon, move to Shinei-Nishi Park Water Play Area and splash around until evening. Playing, then resting in the shade, then playing again is something only a shallow wading pool with no time slots allows. All three stops are about ten minutes apart by car, so the day is built to be full without traveling far.
