2026 Asukaze Park Water Play Area: A Full Day to Enjoy

This is a one-day course that stays entirely within the town of Teine, starring the Asukaze Park Water Play Area, a free water play spot in Asukaze Park in Teine-ku, Sapporo. The water play area normally runs from around Wednesday, July 1 to around Monday, August 31, from 10:00 to 16:00, and the City of Sapporo describes the period as early July to late August. Its distinctive feature is a shallow water play pond with showers from two nozzles set at different heights. The taller one pours water forcefully over your head, while the lower one is gentle enough for small children to approach without fear, so siblings of different ages can each find their own way to play. In the morning, pay a visit to Teine Shrine, close to JR Teine Station. It is a shrine rooted in the community where you can learn about the origin of the name Teine and the town's history. After that, enjoy the play equipment and a packed lunch at Inazumi Park. The grounds are spacious enough to move around freely. In the afternoon, spend your time in the spray at the Asukaze Park Water Play Area until it closes at 16:00. Each move takes about 10 minutes by car, making this an easy outing close to home.
