2026 Higashitoyo Park Wading Pool Full-Day Course
A one-day course built around the Higashitoyo Park Wading Pool (東豊公園 徒渉池) in Higashitoyo Park in Asahikawa City, combining a science center with a walk through town. The wading pool is open from Monday, June 1 to Monday, August 31, 2026, from 10:00 to 17:00, and it is free. The water is shallow, so even small children can walk in on their own. In the morning, visit the Asahikawa City Science Center Saipal. Its exhibits let you check out themes distinctive to a northern region, such as space and snow and ice, using your whole body, so the day holds together whether it rains or the heat rises. The planetarium is another big draw for children. For lunch, move to the Heiwa-dori Shopping Park (平和通買物公園). It is a pedestrian-only street running straight from in front of Asahikawa Station, so you can walk without worrying about traffic — reassuring with children along. Meals and souvenirs are both available here. In the afternoon, play at the Higashitoyo Park Wading Pool, splashing away until closing at 17:00. This course links three very different stretches of time — indoors, a town walk and water play — with only short drives inside Asahikawa City.
Schedule
