2026 Tobu Chuo Park Seseragi Stream Full-Day Course
In a residential neighborhood on the east side of Asahikawa City, Tobu Chuo Park (東部中央公園) has a shallow brook channel where water flows only in summer. Tobu Chuo Park Seseragi Stream is a free water-play spot open from June 1 (Mon) to August 31 (Mon), 2026, from 10:00 to 17:00. The venue is Tobu Chuo Park (東部中央公園) in Asahikawa City, and because the brook channel is shallow, even a child who has just started walking can play within easy sight of a parent. In the morning, first visit Takasago Shuzo Meiji Sake Brewery (高砂酒造 明治酒蔵), a short drive from the park. Step into the Taisho-era wooden storehouse and you are wrapped in air so cool it makes the heat outside seem unreal. Next, move on to Asahikawa City Science Center Sci-Pal, where the planetarium and the minus-30-degree hands-on exhibit let you learn about the climate of Asahikawa itself while having fun. For lunch, stay indoors in front of Asahikawa Station (旭川駅) and take your time through the hours when the sun is strongest. In the afternoon, change into swimwear and return to Tobu Chuo Park Seseragi Stream, walking and running through the channel until the 17:00 close. There is no waiting in line as there is at a pool, so the joy of the stream is that children can play at their own pace. It may close depending on weather or water-quality management, so check the Asahikawa City announcements before you head out.
