2026 Kyokushin Chuo Park Wading Pool Full-Day Course
In the south of Asahikawa City, near the hill of Kaguraoka (神楽岡), Kyokushin Chuo Park (旭神中央公園) has a water plaza that opens only in summer. Kyokushin Chuo Park Wading Pool is a free water-play spot open from June 1 (Mon) to August 31 (Mon), 2026, from 10:00 to 17:00. The venue is Kyokushin Chuo Park (旭神中央公園) in Asahikawa City, and because the wading pool is shallow, even a child who has just started walking can play within easy sight of a parent. In the morning, first visit Kamikawa Shrine (上川神社), which rests in the woods of Kaguraoka (神楽岡). Loved by residents as the chief guardian shrine of Asahikawa, it is a place where simply walking the long tree-lined approach changes the air around you. Continue on to the Miura Ayako Memorial Museum of Literature (三浦綾子記念文学館), where the Foreign Tree Species Arboretum (外国樹種見本林) that served as the setting of the novel Freezing Point (氷点) spreads out right beside it, an experience only Asahikawa can offer. For lunch, head out to Heiwa-dori Shopping Park (平和通買物公園) in the city center and eat at leisure while walking a street with no cars. In the afternoon, change into swimwear and return to Kyokushin Chuo Park Wading Pool, splashing to your heart's content until the 17:00 close. Forest, story, and water play connect in a single day, a summer very much in the spirit of Asahikawa. It may close depending on weather or water-quality management, so check the Asahikawa City announcements before you head out.
