2026: A Full Day at Kazusa Sarashina Park Jabujabu Pond
This course puts the spotlight on Kazusa Sarashina Park Jabujabu Pond, a free water-play area in Kazusa Sarashina Park in Ichihara City, for a full day of play close to home. In 2026 it is open from Wednesday, July 1 to Monday, August 31, from 9:00 to 17:00. It is closed all day on Thursday, July 30 for cleaning and a water change, and it is also called off on rainy days, on days when the temperature is 25°C or below, and in stormy weather with thunder or strong wind. Footwear made for water play is required, and putting your face in the water, diving, and drinking the water are not allowed. Admission is free, and because it is an open park close to the station, it is easy to head out on a day you suddenly feel like it. The morning begins at the Kazusa Kokubun-niji Temple Ruins, feeling for yourself just how large a Nara-period temple was. Next, at the Ichihara Museum of History, you follow Ichihara's history through the things unearthed from this land. For lunch, eat well at Ario Ichihara right beside the park and restock on changes of clothes and drinks. Then in the afternoon, it is finally time to send up sprays of water at the Jabujabu Pond.
Schedule
Feel the scale of the Nara period at the reconstructed middle gate and corridor
Trace ancient Ichihara and its daily life through unearthed artifacts
