2026: A Full Day at Tega no Oka Park Jabujabu Pond
This course puts the spotlight on Tega no Oka Park Jabujabu Pond, a free water-play area in Tega no Oka Park in Kashiwa City, for a full day of play close to home. In 2026 it is open from Saturday, July 18 to Monday, August 31, from 9:00 to 16:00. It is closed on Mondays, but the schedule is irregular: it opens on Monday, July 20 (a public holiday), closes on Tuesday, July 21, and opens on Monday, August 31. It may be called off on rainy days or after heavy rain the day before, so checking the previous day's weather as well is the safe approach. It is a facility for wading, so swimming and putting your face in the water are not allowed, and sandals and similar footwear cannot be used. Admission is free, and the setting is a pleasant one, in woods on a hill overlooking Lake Teganuma. In the morning you touch on the history unique to this land at the Former Tega Church remaining by the lakeshore, then have lunch at Michi-no-Eki Shonan Roadside Station while browsing the local vegetables. In the afternoon you return to Tega no Oka Park, get moving on the large adventure playground, and round things off at the Jabujabu Pond.
Schedule
Touch the history of the land at a small chapel converted from a thatched farmhouse
Browse local vegetables at the lakeside farm stand and have lunch
Get moving first on the wooden adventure playground in the woods
Dip your feet in the cool water and play until evening
