2026 Chikusa Fureai Park Fountain Full-Day Course

A local outing course that gets moving first thing in the morning, starring the Chikusa Fureai Park Fountain in Ichihara City (市原市). This fountain runs from July 1 (Wed) to August 31 (Mon), during the hours from 9:15 to 11:00. Because the water only runs in the morning, planning to finish playing while it is still cool makes for a pleasant use of the day. Admission is free, and the park also has a lawn plaza, a roller slide and a combination play structure, so there is no shortage of places to play after the fountain stops. Early in the morning, first visit the nationally designated historic site of the Kazusa Kokubun-niji Temple Ruins (上総国分尼寺跡). Standing before the restored middle gate and corridor, you can picture the great temple of the Nara period. Next, stop by Goi Station (五井駅), the starting point of the Kominato Railway (小湊鐵道), look at the trains lined up in the depot, and then move on to the park. Arriving in time for the 9:15 fountain start lets you begin water play from the least crowded hour. When the fountain stops at 11:00, you are free to stay and play on the lawn and the equipment, or move on for lunch.
