2026 Izumidai Central Green Space Seseragi Stream: Full-Day Course
This is a course for a full day of play close to home, starring Izumidai Central Green Space Seseragi Stream, set within a residential area of Ichihara City. An artificial stream runs through the green space, so you can step into the shallow flow and walk along it or scoop up the water to play. Admission is free. The 2026 operating period has not been announced; in most years the water flows during the summer holidays. In the morning, visit the Kazusa Kokubunji Temple Ruins (上総国分寺跡), a nationally designated historic site, and confirm together as a family that this land was the center of Kazusa Province in the Nara period. Next, take your time at the Ichihara City Buried Cultural Properties Research Center (市原市埋蔵文化財調査センター) viewing displays of pottery and stone tools unearthed from sites in the city. At lunch, eat well while cooling off at Ario Ichihara and pick up anything you still need for water play. In the afternoon, return to Izumidai Central Green Space and spend the time until evening with the water, moving back and forth along the stream. Because indoor and outdoor stops alternate, you can build a full day without using up too much energy even at the height of summer. Checking Ichihara City's information for the day's water-flow status before you head out will give you peace of mind.
