2026 Hiroo Disaster Prevention Park Water Play Plaza: Full-Day Course
This is a course for a full day of play close to home, starring the free water-play spot Hiroo Disaster Prevention Park Water Play Plaza in Hiroo Disaster Prevention Park (広尾防災公園) in Ichikawa City. Besides the water plaza, the park has a lawn plaza, play equipment and disaster-prevention facilities, so between water play you can choose how to spend your time, exercising on the play equipment or resting on the grass. The operating period has not been announced; in most years it opens during the summer holidays. Checking Ichikawa City's information before you set out is the sure way to go. Admission is free, so you can also use it for just a short stop. In the morning, head over to neighboring Urayasu City and experience the townscape of Urayasu in its fishing-town days and the world of the beka boats at the Urayasu City Folk Museum (浦安市郷土博物館). Next, take a close look at life from the Edo to the Meiji period at the Former Otsuka Residence (旧大塚家住宅) and the Former Udagawa Residence (旧宇田川家住宅). Back at the park, spread out your lunch on the lawn plaza, and in the afternoon play at a relaxed pace, splashing away at the water plaza.
Schedule
Meet the townscape and the beka boats of a former fishing town
Stand inside Edo- and Meiji-era houses and sense the proportions of daily life
Spread out lunch on the lawn and get some light exercise on the play equipment
