2026 Minamigyotoku Park Artificial Stream: A Full Day of Fun
A course for a full day of play close to home, starring the free water-play spot known as the Minamigyotoku Park Artificial Stream in Minamigyotoku Park, Ichikawa City. It usually operates from late April to the end of September; in 2026 it runs from around Saturday, April 25 to around Wednesday, September 30, from 10:00 to 16:30. The water descends gently along the slope of a man-made hill, so even small children can get used to it at their own pace. It is cancelled in rainy weather, so check the day's forecast before you head out. There are restrooms (including an accessible restroom) but no parking, so plan to come by train, bicycle, or on foot. Admission is free, and the appeal is how easily you can drop by on a whim. In the morning, take your time watching the wetland birds at Ainesuto, the Gyotoku Wild Bird Observatory, right beside a residential district. Have a proper lunch at AEON Ichikawa Myoden and stock up on spare clothes and drinks. In the afternoon, move to Minamigyotoku Park and play at a relaxed pace to the sound of running water.
Schedule
Watch wetland birds next to a residential area, comfortably from indoors
Get lunch and the last water-play supplies done in one stop
Play in the water all afternoon in the channel running down the man-made hill
