2026 Showa no Mori Water and Greenery Play Area: Full-Day Course

This is a full-day course built around the free water play area known as the Showa no Mori Water and Greenery Play Area, in Showa no Mori in Midori Ward, Chiba City. Showa no Mori is a vast 105.8-hectare comprehensive park, and this play area sits by the water within it. There is plenty of tree shade, which makes it a comfortable place to spend time with breaks along the way even at the height of summer. The opening period has not been announced; in past years it has opened during the summer school holidays. Because no opening period is stated officially, please check with the management office (043-294-3845) before you set out. Admission is free and the car park is large, making it well suited to a family spending a relaxed day. The morning begins with the view from the observation deck looking out over the Kujukuri Plain and the Pacific Ocean, followed by plenty of active play on the famous long slide and adventure playground. Have an unhurried lunch and rest at Showa no Mori Forest Village inside the park. In the afternoon, head to the Water and Greenery Play Area and cool off with your feet in the shaded water.
