2026 Sakatagaike Comprehensive Park Dragon's Spring and Mountain Stream Path: Full-Day Course
This is a full-day course built around the free water play area known as Sakatagaike Comprehensive Park Dragon's Spring and Mountain Stream Path, in Narita City. Beneath the suspension bridge called Dragon's Path is the Dragon's Spring, where water wells up from a rock shaped like a dragon's head, and you can play in the channel the water flows along, the Mountain Stream Path. Because the name and the shaping carry a story, children approach the water of their own accord, which is what makes this play area interesting. Portable pools may not be brought in. The opening period has not been announced; in past years it has opened during the summer school holidays. Please check the official information before you head out. Use is free of charge. In the morning, visit Ryukakuji Temple and the Iwaya Burial Mound in neighbouring Sakae Town and get a real sense that this area has drawn people together since ancient times. Next, at Chiba Prefectural Boso no Mura, walk the merchant townscape of the Edo to Meiji periods and experience life as it once was. After lunch, move on to Sakatagaike in the afternoon and play in the spray.
