2026 Sanbu-no-Mori Park Stream and Yasuragi Pond: A Full Day Course
This course puts Sanbu-no-Mori Park Stream and Yasuragi Pond in Sanmu City centre stage and lets you savour a full day in the countryside hills. The park has Yasuragi Pond and a stream flowing into it, so children can step into the shallow water to look for creatures and splash one another. There is also the Fureai Plaza open space and a roller slide, so families will appreciate being able to move back and forth between the water and the play equipment. Admission is free; the 2026 operating period has not been announced, but in most years the water runs during the summer holidays. In the morning, first visit the Naruto / Togane Carnivorous Plant Colony (成東・東金食虫植物群落), designated a National Natural Monument. Walk the wetland boardwalk and search together for the curious plants that catch insects. Next, stop by the Birthplace of Ito Sachio and the Sanmu City Museum of History and Folklore (山武市歴史民俗資料館) to see the house where the poet who wrote The Grave of the Wild Chrysanthemum grew up, along with exhibits conveying life in this area. For lunch, move to Sanbu-no-Mori Park and spread out a picnic in the shade, then spend the afternoon playing in the water at the stream and Yasuragi Pond until evening. Plants, literature and water play: a day built entirely from what only Sanmu has to offer.
