2026 Ota Daiichi Park Toddler Pool: Full-Day Highlights Course
This is a half-day outing course built around the Ota Daiichi Park Toddler Pool, a summer-only pool set up in Ota Daiichi Park in Wakayama City, with water play in the morning. In 2026 it is open from Saturday, July 18 to Wednesday, August 12, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., so children can play before the heat turns severe — a real plus for families with little ones. Only children below elementary school age may use it; elementary school children and older cannot enter. A guardian must accompany the child, and swimwear is required. Ordinary disposable nappies and training pants are not permitted, so remember to bring swim nappies. Admission is free, so you can also keep the visit short depending on your child's mood. First thing in the morning, walk beneath the trees at Hinokuma Jingu / Kunikakasu Jingu (日前神宮 / 國懸神宮), the ichinomiya of Kii Province, then learn how the city took shape at the Wakayama City Museum (和歌山市立博物館) before heading to the park. Because you can move straight on to lunch after the water play, it is easy to plan a restful afternoon. The pool may be cancelled in rain or other poor weather, so checking the forecast before you set out is reassuring.
Schedule
