2026 Kuriyama Park Natural Stone Stream: Full-Day Highlights Course
This is a temple-town outing course you can complete entirely by train, built around the Kuriyama Park Natural Stone Stream, within walking distance of Narita Station. A stream made of natural stones runs through the park, where children can walk on the shallow water or dam the flow running between the rocks. Along with a lawn area, the park also has a D51 steam locomotive on display and a mini steam train, so it is irresistible for children who love both water and vehicles. Use is free; the 2026 opening period has not been announced, but in most years the water flows during the summer holidays. In the morning, pay your respects at Naritasan Shinshoji Temple (成田山 新勝寺) and enjoy together the sheer size of the Great Main Hall and the bustle of the approach. Stopping at the Narita Tourist Pavilion (成田観光館) partway along the approach, you will find the floats of the Narita Gion Festival (成田祇園祭) on display, conveying the excitement of this town's festival. For lunch, choose eel or another local speciality on the main approach and eat at leisure, then move on to Kuriyama Park in the afternoon for water play until evening. Temple visit, street food and water play — a day built purely from the things that make Narita what it is.
