2026 Miyakita Park Toddler Pool Full-Day Course
This outing puts the Miyakita Park Toddler Pool, a summer-only pool set up in Miyakita Park in Wakayama City, at the heart of a morning of water play. In 2026 it is open from Saturday, July 18 to Wednesday, August 12, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Because the fun happens before the worst of the heat arrives, it is gentle on small children. Only children who have not yet started elementary school may use it; elementary students and older are not admitted. A parent or guardian must accompany the child, and swimwear is required. Ordinary disposable diapers and pull-ups are not permitted, so please prepare swim diapers. Admission is free, so you can also keep the visit short and finish whenever your child has had enough. In the morning you can take in large artworks at the Wakayama Prefectural Museum of Modern Art (和歌山県立近代美術館) and look into the story of the Kishu Tokugawa family at the Wakayama History Museum inside Wakayama Castle (和歌山城) before heading to the park. Since you can go straight to lunch after the water play, it is easy to plan a restful afternoon. The pool may be canceled due to rain or other weather conditions, so checking the forecast before you leave is reassuring.
