2026 Kitamachi Shimashima Park Water Theater Full-Day Course

This one-day course puts the Kitamachi Shimashima Park Water Theater (Fountain Plaza) in Kitamachi Shimashima Park, Kita Ward, Saitama City, in the leading role, touring the sights of Omiya (大宮) before an evening of fountain play. The Water Theater operates from Sunday, March 1 to Monday, November 30, 2026, from 11:00 to 20:00 (planned). The fountain shoots up for seven minutes starting on the hour, and for children the very act of waiting for that moment is irresistible (it may be unavailable due to cleaning or other work). Use is free, and the spacious 16,000-square-meter park has restrooms and a lawn area. Because it is open for nine months, this water play spot can be worked into spring and autumn outings as well as midsummer ones. In the morning, enjoy real train cars and driving simulators at the Railway Museum (鉄道博物館) and have a station bento box (駅弁) lunch inside. In the afternoon, walk the long approach of Musashi Ichinomiya Hikawa Shrine (武蔵一宮 氷川神社) and take in the atmosphere of the head shrine of Omiya. Then, in the evening, on to Kitamachi Shimashima Park. The fountain runs until 20:00, so in the long days of the season you can play at a leisurely pace.
