2026 Uneune Park Stream: Full-Day Course
A one-day course built around the Uneune Park Stream in Uneune Park, Kita-ku, Saitama City, walking through the town of bonsai and finishing with water. The stream is available from Wednesday 1 July 2026 to Wednesday 30 September 2026, from 9:00 to 17:00 (it may be unavailable due to cleaning and similar work). Use is free, and the shallow stream is set in the northern part of the park. Because it is open every day for three months, it is a long-running water play spot that suits not only the summer holidays but also the lingering heat of September. In the morning, visit the Omiya Bonsai Art Museum in Saitama, where you can take your time with the masterpieces and savour the world-renowned bonsai culture of Omiya. Right nearby, the Saitama City Cartoon Art Museum stands on the site of the former home of Rakuten Kitazawa (北澤楽天), called the father of modern Japanese cartoons, and is Japan's first museum devoted to cartoon art. Being able to trace two cultures unique to northern Omiya, bonsai and cartoons, in a single trip is what makes this course interesting. Have lunch in the cool of Stella Town, then cool your feet in the stream at Uneune Park in the afternoon. The loose time constraints also make it easy to rearrange the plan at your family's own pace.
