2026 Osaki Park Splash Pond: A Full Day of Fun

This is a course for spending a full day in the greenery of Minuma (見沼), centered on the Osaki Park Splash Pond in Osaki Park (大崎公園), Midori Ward, Saitama City. The splash pond is open from Saturday, July 18, 2026 to Monday, August 31, 2026, from 10:00 to 16:00. Draining starts around 15:00, and it is closed for cleaning on Monday, July 27, Monday, August 10, and Monday, August 24, as well as during bad weather or an approaching typhoon. Use is free, a children's zoo with free admission adjoins it in the same park, and restrooms are well provided. Spreading out all around is the rural landscape of the Minuma rice fields, with a sense of openness that makes you forget you are in a city. In the morning, tour the old private houses that once stood in this area at the Urawa Museum of Traditional Housing. At the Saitama City Horticultural Garden, take in the large greenhouse and seasonal flowers and soak up the greenery. For lunch, open your bento on the lawn at Osaki Park, and in the afternoon meet red pandas and flamingos at the children's zoo before heading to the splash pond. A summer outing that fills a whole day for free and is gentle on the wallet.
