2026 Water and Relaxation Plaza Splash Pool Full-Day Course

A one-day course walking around Musashi-Urawa, starring the Water and Relaxation Plaza (Shirahata Water Distribution Plant) Splash Pool at the Water and Relaxation Plaza in Minami Ward, Saitama City. The splash pool runs from Wednesday, July 1 to Monday, August 31, 2026; the plaza is open 9:00 to 17:00 and the splash pool until 16:30. Every Monday is a cleaning day (the following Tuesday if Monday is a public holiday), and it also closes in bad weather. Use is free, and besides the splash pool there is a gateball court, on an unusual site created by opening up the top of the Shirahata water distribution plant as a plaza. Pets are not allowed. In the morning, visit Oyaba Hikawa Shrine (大谷場氷川神社), known for its pheasant carvings, and touch on the old faith of Minami Ward. Then on to Bessho-numa Park (別所沼公園), where the dawn redwoods ringing the pond and Hyacinth House, built from a design by the poet Tachihara Michizo (立原道造), create scenery found only in this town. Have lunch in front of Musashi-Urawa Station, then spend the afternoon playing plenty in the water at the splash pool.
