2026 Water and Sports Park Splash Pool Full-Day Course
A one-day course that traces the history of Minuma (見沼) before finishing with water, starring the Water and Sports Park (Fukasaku Water Distribution Plant) Splash Pool at Water and Sports Park in Minuma Ward, Saitama City. The splash pool runs from Wednesday, July 1 to Wednesday, September 30, 2026; the park is open 9:00 to 17:00 and the splash pool until 16:30. It cannot be used on Friday, July 24 because of cleaning, and it also closes in bad weather and on cleaning days. Use is free, and besides the splash pool there are a gateball court and tennis courts, on an unusual site where the top of the Fukasaku water distribution plant has been opened up as a park. Pets are not allowed. In the morning, visit Nakayama Shrine (中山神社), counted as one of the three Hikawa shrines, and touch on the old faith of Minuma. At the Former Bando Family Residence, Minuma Kurashikku-kan, the house of an Edo-period village headman remains as it was, and on some days a fire is lit in the sunken hearth. Spread out a packed lunch in the shade at Owada Park (大和田公園) at midday, then play plenty in the water at the splash pool in the afternoon. Because it is open for three months, this course is easy to schedule.
