2026 Ogimachi Park Fountain Plaza (扇町公園 噴水広場) Full-Day Course
In Kita Ward, Osaka City, right in the heart of the city, Ogimachi Park (扇町公園) is home to Ogimachi Park Fountain Plaza (扇町公園 噴水広場), a free place to play in the water. The 2026 season runs from Monday, June 1 to Wednesday, September 30, and because the starting time changed on July 17, 2026, be sure to check the official announcement for the operating hours on the day of your visit. There are several spray patterns plus a mist effect, and since the location and timing of the water keep changing, children end up running around trying to predict where it will come out next. From 18:00 the fountain becomes an LED-lit show, and its character after sunset is completely different. The park also has large play equipment and an adjoining pool, so being able to move back and forth when the kids tire of the water is a real luxury for an urban park. Admission is free. In the morning, walk Tenjinbashisuji Shopping Street (天神橋筋商店街), said to be the longest in Japan, then continue to the Osaka Museum of Housing and Living. The floor that recreates an Edo-period townscape at full scale is an exhibit you can literally walk through, covering the whole history of daily life in Osaka. In the afternoon, let the children move freely at Kids Plaza Osaka, then head to the fountain plaza in the evening. It is a day that can be done entirely by subway, and it feels distinctly like central Osaka.
