2026 Kitamoto Children's Park Seseragi Stream Full-Day Course
This is a full-day course spent freely on the plateau along the Arakawa River (荒川), starring the Kitamoto Children's Park Seseragi Stream inside Kitamoto Children's Park (北本市子供公園) in Kitamoto City. The stream is usually open from late April through September (in 2026, around Saturday 25 April to Wednesday 30 September) between 9:30 and 17:00 (closed on the fourth Monday; if that is a public holiday, the following day instead). Admission is free, and beyond the layout that links a small waterfall, a stream and a shallow splash pool, there is also a bouncy dome, slides and a fountain area. Because water play and playground equipment are all in one place, children almost never get bored. The long opening period from late April to the end of September also makes it easy to plan around. In the morning, visit the Ishito Kaba-zakura Cherry Tree, counted among Japan's five great cherry trees. As the old tree that became the country's first designated National Natural Monument, it is essential to any story about Kitamoto. At the Saitama Prefectural Nature Study Center (埼玉県自然学習センター) you can learn about the nature along the Arakawa River (荒川), and on the high ground of Takao Sakura Park you can lay out your lunch. In the afternoon, head to the children's park and move between the water and the play equipment until evening.
