2026 Citizens' Forest Seseragi Stream Full-Day Course
In the Citizens' Forest (Kyoden Pond Green Space), a green area close to the center of Hirakata City, there is a free water-play spot called the Citizens' Forest (Kyoden Pond Green Space) Seseragi Stream. The 2026 season runs from Friday, May 1 to Saturday, October 31, 10:00-16:00, and the operating period may change depending on the weather. A shallow stream channel flows through the green space, so even children who have only just started walking can make their way through the water on their own feet. True to the name of the green space, it is surrounded by trees and a pond, so you can pick out shade even in midsummer, a comfort unique to this place. Restrooms are provided and admission is free. In the morning, head to the Special Historic Site Kudaraji Temple Ruins (百済寺跡), an easy walk away. The sight of ancient temple foundation stones lined up across a wide lawn is a view you can see only in Hirakata. After that, finish lunch and shopping at Hirakata T-SITE in front of Hirakatashi Station and let the peak of the heat pass inside the cool building. In the afternoon it is finally time for the stream. The historic site, the town, and the waterside all fit within a radius of about 2 km, making this a neighborhood outing you can put together without a car.
Schedule
Walk the remains of an ancient temple, its foundation stones set across a lawn, and feel its scale
Lunch and supplies at the complex by the station; spend the hot hours indoors
