2026 Full-Day Course: Yamadaike Park Nagare (Stream)
Yamadaike Park, spread across the hills of Hirakata City, is home to the free water play area ‘Yamadaike Park Nagare’ (stream water play area). In 2026 the season runs from Friday, May 1 through Wednesday, September 30, between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., extended to 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. during the summer vacation period from July 17 to August 31. It is closed all day on Wednesday, August 26 for cleaning of the stream, so it's a good idea to check the schedule before heading out. The site sits beside the lawn plaza in the southern district, and is built as a roughly 170-meter artificial channel where water flows gently along. The water is shallow, and a key feature is that small children can walk back and forth between upstream and downstream on their own. Admission is free, and restrooms and parking are available on-site, so you can head out on the spur of the moment. In the morning, touch on the legend of ancient immigrants at the Legendary Tomb of Wani in Fujisaka, Hirakata City, then move straight on to Yamadaike Park to stroll through the iris garden. At midday, sit down on the lawn plaza and spread out a bento, and in the afternoon, finally head to the water channel. The spacious park has plenty of trees, and being able to choose shady routes even in summer is part of what makes this park comfortable to spend time in. Since it's accessible by Keihan Bus and JR Fujisaka Station without a car, this is a day trip you can put together easily as a nearby outing.
