2026 Nizawa Senzuka Tumulus Park Dragon Plaza Full-Day Course
A course built around the Dragon Plaza at Nizawa Senzuka Tumulus Park (新沢千塚古墳群公園) in Kashihara City, with its Dragon Pond and Dragon Fountain, for a full day of play close to home. According to the city's official information, the Dragon Fountain runs from 8:00 to 18:00, and the mist operates from May through October. Admission is free, and because the Dragon Plaza offers grass sledding and play equipment as well as water play, children can keep playing at their own pace. The Dragon Pond and Dragon Fountain use well water, so the flow varies and the scene changes from day to day, which is part of the fun. Inside the park there is a Cherry Blossom Plaza and a Terraced Field Plaza, so pick a shady spot, lay out a picnic sheet and take your time. The Kashihara City Museum of History, the Silk no Mori facility and the OTENKI Terrace are all on the same grounds, so you are never short of somewhere to escape the hottest hours. Spend a cool morning among live butterflies at the Kashihara City Insectarium (橿原市昆虫館), see artifacts from the burial mounds at the museum, and then have lunch. In the afternoon, splash to your heart's content at the Dragon Plaza. Cleaning days are Tuesday and Friday, and after cleaning it takes about half a day for the pond to refill (this may change due to rain and other conditions), so plan around those hours.
