This course centers on Gojo Central Park Water Play Plaza (五條中央公園 親水広場) in Gojo City (五條市) and fills a whole day of play close to home. According to the official information from Gojo City, the plaza operates from May 1, 2026 (Reiwa 8) through the end of September, from 10:00 to 16:00. Admission is free, and the plaza, with its four kinds of fountain displays, is the first place children dash toward on a hot day. It uses an automatic filtration and chlorination system, which is reassuring for parents letting small children play. The same park also has the Fuwafuwa Dome, a large trampoline open from 9:30 to 16:00, plus an adventure playground and a multipurpose ground, so the fun never stops even when the water loses its appeal. Cherry and plum trees are planted here as well, and the changing seasonal scenery is one reason it has long been loved by locals. In the morning, enjoy the quiet riverside at Eizan-ji Temple (榮山寺), home to a National Treasure octagonal hall, then walk along Gojo Shinmachi Street, lined with Edo-period townhouses, and finish lunch there. In the afternoon, send the spray flying at the water play plaza. The plaza, the Fuwafuwa Dome, and the park office are closed every Wednesday (the following day if it is a public holiday) and over the New Year period, and operations may be suspended depending on the weather, so check before you set out.
