2026 Kotodai Park Relaxation Zone Wall Fountain Full-Day Course

This course spends a full day in the city centre, centred on the Kotodai Park Relaxation Zone Wall Fountain in Kotodai Park, Aoba Ward, Sendai. The relaxation zone has a wall fountain where water falls like a waterfall, and in summer it fills with children cooling off in the spray. It is free to use, so you can drop in briefly between stops on a city walk or stay the whole afternoon. Inside the park there are flower beds, open spaces and an open-air concert hall, plus a kiosk, a cafe and toilets, so families can travel light. Sitting directly above Kotodai-koen Subway Station, it is easy to plan for even without a car, which is a big attraction. In the morning you look in on Sendai Morning Market (仙台朝市), known as Sendai's kitchen, take an unhurried lunch in the Ichibancho shopping street, then walk the zelkova-lined Jozenji-dori Avenue (定禅寺通) to the park. Being in the heart of the city yet having both greenery and water makes it an easy place to plan around even on a hot day.
