2026 Jaishi Babbling Brook Park Splash Pool: Full-Day Course
This is a course for spending a full day at the foot of Nanatsumori, starring the Jaishi Babbling Brook Park Splash Pool in Taiwa Town (大和町), Miyagi Prefecture. The park has a man-made splash pool and a babbling stream plaza, and in summer it bustles with families cooling off in the water. Admission is free, so you can use it for a brief stop to cool off or for a whole afternoon of play. Parking is provided, but when it is crowded there are notices directing visitors to park at nearby parks, so allowing extra time brings peace of mind. Open flames are strictly prohibited in the park and overnight stays are not allowed, so plan on bringing a boxed lunch rather than cooking. All around spread the mountain range of Nanatsumori and the reservoir of Minamikawa Dam, and the continuous scenery of water and greenery is the charm of this area. In the morning, look out over Lake Nanatsumori from atop the embankment of Minamikawa Dam, spread out a boxed lunch in the shade at Nanatsumori Lakeside Park, and then head for the water play. It is an easy drive from central Sendai, making it a comfortable day-trip outing close to home. The opening period has not been announced, and in past years operation has run through the summer holidays, so check the Taiwa Town information for conditions on the day before you set out.
