In 2026 (Reiwa 8) it is open from Saturday, July 18 through Sunday, September 27, between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. The park's official information clearly states there is ‘one water-friendly facility [fountain]’ at the North Entrance, where you can play in the water at this green-ringed fountain plaza. The plaza is adjacent to a flower plaza and a cherry-blossom-viewing plaza, and there are two gazebos and two benches, so it's nice that adults can sit in the shade and keep an eye on the kids. The venue is managed by Awakigahara Forest Park Citizens' Forest, and the day starts in the morning by taking a relaxed look at the flowers in that Citizens' Forest's rose garden. For lunch, move to Miyazaki Coastal Park Sun Beach Hitotsuse, where the Pacific Ocean spreads out right in front of you, and spread out a bento in the shade of the pines. After resting your body while gazing at the sea, finally head to the fountain plaza in the afternoon. In this tree-ringed plaza, you can play in the splashing water until evening. Play is canceled during rain, and on cleaning days the fountain is stopped and the facility is closed for the whole day, so please check the day's announcement before heading out.
