2026 Oyodogawa Civic Green Space Seseragi Waterway: A Full Day Course

This one-day course stays entirely within the city, with the Oyodogawa Civic Green Space Seseragi Waterway along the Oyodo River (大淀川) in Miyazaki City as its star. Fed by groundwater from the Oyodo River, the roughly 400m stream runs through the green space in the Tsurushima district (鶴島地区), and Miyazaki City officially lists it as a park where you can play in the water. It is scheduled to open from July through the end of September, from 8:00 to 19:00. Miyazaki City's official page does not state the 2026 opening period explicitly; the fact that the parking lot beneath Tenmabashi Bridge (天満橋) is available only from July 1 to September 30 serves as a rough guide. The water is shallow, and with a lawn area and nine benches in place, adults can sit and keep watch while the children play. In the morning, enjoy the planetarium and the rocket exhibits at the Miyazaki Science and Technology Museum (宮崎科学技術館), then admire the exterior of the Miyazaki Prefectural Government Main Building (宮崎県庁本館), which preserves the look of the early Showa era. Take a leisurely lunch at Miyako City Shopping Center right next to the green space, and restock on changes of clothes and drinks. In the afternoon, spend the time until evening with your feet in the Seseragi Waterway, where the river breeze passes through.
