2026 Full-Day Course: Kobayashi General Sports Park Central Plaza Water Play Area
This course centers on Kobayashi City's Central Plaza Water Play Area at Kobayashi General Sports Park (小林総合運動公園 中央広場 水遊び場), a fitting day trip for a town known for its fine water. The water play area at the Central Plaza is built as a shallow stream fed by fountain water, shallow enough that even children just learning to walk can play safely. It operates from April to November, 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM, and is closed from December to March due to the risk of freezing. Kobayashi City's official page only gives a facility overview of the 'Central Plaza' and doesn't specify the water play area's operating period, so this period is based on information from Hiiragi Arena, the designated manager. The plaza also has combination play equipment renovated in fiscal year 2022 and a 6,480-square-meter lawn, plus five gazebos and vending machines, making it a comfortable place to spend the whole day. In the morning, walk through Deno-yama Park (出の山公園), known for spring water selected as one of Japan's Top 100 Waters, and experience the clear pond and the coldness of the spring water firsthand. For lunch, spread a sheet on the sports park's lawn for a bento and rest in the shade. In the afternoon, you can play at the Central Plaza Water Play Area until evening, walking along the stream and scooping up water. It's a day to enjoy the water of Kobayashi, a town of spring water, in different forms from morning to evening.
