2026 Okimizugawa Civic Green Space Seseragi Waterway Full-Day Course

A one-day course starring the Okimizugawa Civic Green Space Seseragi Waterway in Miyakonojo City, only a short drive from the town centre. The Okimizugawa Civic Green Space is an enormous 60.93-hectare green area with 12 sports grounds and 3 ground golf courses, and in one corner runs the gently flowing Seseragi waterway. The water flows from July to September, from 9:00 to 17:00, and Miyakonojo City's official page states clearly that it cannot be used on Thursdays because of cleaning. The water is shallow, and thanks to the huge site it rarely feels crowded, which families will appreciate. There is 1 multipurpose toilet and 9 simple toilets. In the morning, pay your respects at Kanbashira Shrine (神柱宮), long loved as the guardian shrine of Miyakonojo, and then take your time around the cool galleries of the Miyakonojo Municipal Art Museum (都城市立美術館). At noon, head to the Miyakonojo NiQLL Roadside Station, where the flavours of a town of meat and shochu come together. Once you have eaten your fill of local ingredients, the afternoon is finally time for water play at the Seseragi waterway. Listen to the sound of the water until evening and spend a relaxed day in the wide green space.
