2026 Takaoka Otogi-no-Mori Park Kappa Plaza Full One-Day Course
A one-day course completed within the city, starring the Takaoka Otogi-no-Mori Park Kappa Plaza in Takaoka Otogi-no-Mori Park in Takaoka City. The official introduction states that Kappa Plaza is an artificial pond on the Senbo River (千保川) side, that the water is shallow so even small children can bathe safely, and that in summer children in swimsuits play here energetically. The opening period has not been announced, but in most years it can be enjoyed in summer, centered on the school holidays. Admission is free, and the adjoining Otogi-no-Mori Hall has a bouncy dome and a ball pool, along with a children's house and a large play structure, so you can go back and forth between water and play equipment all day. In the morning, take in the original drawings and world of the manga artist this town produced at the Takaoka Fujiko F. Fujio Hometown Gallery inside the Takaoka Art Museum (高岡市美術館). Then put your hands together at the Takaoka Daibutsu (高岡大仏) for a moment that feels true to Takaoka, the town of copperware. Eat well at AEON Mall Takaoka at lunchtime and finish buying drinks and spare clothes so the afternoon is light. Then, at last, Kappa Plaza. Beyond the partition stones on the Senbo River side the current is fast, and visitors are asked not to approach. Settle that promise first and you can enjoy the splashing with peace of mind.
