2026 Fugan Canal Kansui Park Fountain Plaza (富岩運河環水公園 噴水広場) Full-Day Course

This is a one-day course that stays entirely within the city center, starring the Fountain Plaza in Fugan Canal Kansui Park (富岩運河環水公園 噴水広場), which spreads out on the north side of Toyama Station. The official website introduces it by saying 「The Fountain Plaza is a fun water-play spot. It is especially popular in summer, and children are delighted by the way the water shoots up and then stops」, so the movement of the water itself becomes the game. It also explains that 「there are small children in swimsuits, and you can also play in your ordinary clothes」, so you can drop by on a whim without packing a change of clothes. The operating period has not been announced, but in ordinary years it can be enjoyed through the warm season including the summer holidays, and it is shut off in winter. Use is free of charge, and for parking you use the paid Times 24 car park. Tenmon Bridge (天門橋), the Spring and Waterfall Plaza (泉と滝の広場) and the open-air theater stand side by side inside the park, and children never tire of simply watching the boats of the Fugan Suijo Line (富岩水上ライン) travel up and down the canal. In the morning, play and encounter art at the Toyama Prefectural Museum of Art and Design (富山県美術館) just a short walk away, and at lunch enjoy the flavors of Toyama at the Kitokito Market Toya Marche in Toyama Station. In the afternoon, look out over the town and the Tateyama Mountain Range (立山連峰) from the observation tower of Tenmon Bridge, then get thoroughly showered in spray at the Fountain Plaza. Easy to get around whether you arrive by train or by car, it is a classic summer outing.
