2026 Toyama Health Park Jabu-Jabu Pond Full-Day Course
This is a course for spending a full, unhurried day close to home, starring Toyama Health Park Jabu-Jabu Pond in the outdoor health-promotion facility of Toyama Health Park (Toyama International Health Plaza) in Toyama City. The official website states only that the Jabu-Jabu Pond is open from spring through autumn, and because the operating period is decided anew each time, contacting the facility before you set out is the sure approach. The pond sits at the center of the outdoor health-promotion facility, where large rocks that stir a sense of adventure are set in water spreading out to about knee depth. Since the water reaches only below the knee, even small children making their water-play debut can be let loose within easy reach of a parent, which is a real relief. Admission is free, so you can also use it for just a short stop. Around it are the Nature Bathing Plaza, a 1 km trim course, the Adventure Field, a health promenade and a park golf course, so there is no shortage of places to play if the water loses its appeal. In the morning, touch on Toyama's history at the Toyama Prefectural Itai-itai Disease Museum on the same grounds, then get moving at the Adventure Field. At lunchtime, open your bento in the shade of the trees at the Nature Bathing Plaza, and in the afternoon it is finally time for the Jabu-Jabu Pond. With almost no travel involved, it is a day where all your energy can go into playing in the water.
