2026 Taikoyama Land Prefectural Park Fountain Paradise Full-Day Course
This is a course for spending a whole day in a large park, starring Taikoyama Land Prefectural Park Fountain Paradise in Taikoyama Land Prefectural Park in Imizu City. According to official news, in 2026 it started operating on Friday 20 March, a public holiday. The closing date has not been announced, so if you visit in early autumn we recommend checking beforehand. The official website introduces it as a fountain you do not merely look at but step into and play in, offering three fountains to enjoy: the Tunnel of Water, the Crayon Fountain and the Pillars of Water. Renewed in spring 2020, the three types let you move back and forth between them as you play. The site stretches from the Waterside Plaza to the Event Plaza; admission is free and only the car park costs money. Inside the park there is also the Murmuring Stream Path, a brook modelled on the rivers that flow across the Toyama Plain, plus combination play equipment, the Lawn Plaza and a paid Pool Plaza, so even a full day is not enough to play through it all. In the morning, immerse yourselves in the world of picture books at the nearby Imizu City Oshima Picture Book Museum, then open your bento on the park lawn at lunchtime. In the afternoon, play somewhere cool at the Toyama Prefectural Children's Future Museum before heading to Fountain Paradise as the sunlight softens. With little travel involved, it is an itinerary you can follow without upsetting the pace even with small children.
