2026 Oshima Kitano Riverside Park Splash Pool Full-Day Course

A one-day course spent beside the river, built around the Oshima Kitano Riverside Park Splash Pool in Oshima Kitano Riverside Park (大島北野河川公園), which stretches along the Shogawa River (庄川) riverbed in Imizu City. The official Imizu City information notes that the cheers of children fill the air as they play in the splash pool, and it is a summer favourite among local families. The operating period has not been announced; the city only states that the splash pool is open in summer only. Admission is free. The spacious 3.0-hectare grounds include the play equipment of the Wanpaku Hiroba playground and a picnic area where barbecues are possible (reservation required), so you can spend the whole day moving between the water, the play equipment and the lawn. Being right by the Shogawa River embankment, the wide-open sky and the river breeze are another charm of this park. In the morning, visit Kushida Shrine (櫛田神社) in Imizu City and walk its quiet precincts, then immerse yourselves in the world of picture books at the Imizu City Oshima Picture Book Museum (射水市大島絵本館). At lunchtime, spread out your bento in the park picnic area, and in the afternoon send up big sprays of water at the splash pool. Every transfer is short, so the itinerary is easy to cover by car.
