2026 Kose Sports Park Craft Tower Full-Day Course
This is a course for a full day close to home, starring the water-play facility Kose Sports Park Craft Tower in Kose Sports Park in Kofu City. The Craft Tower is a monument-style water play area where water cascades down terraced steps, and in 2026 it operates from Friday, August 7 to Wednesday, September 30, from 10:30 to 14:30. Use is free, but the hours and the period may change or be suspended depending on the weather and conditions, so check the park's official website for the latest information before you set out. Because it runs only until early afternoon, this course is built to start in the morning, tour the highlights before noon, and reach the climax of water play around lunchtime. In the morning, see Jomon pottery and haniwa clay figures at the Yamanashi Prefectural Museum of Archaeology (山梨県立考古博物館), also in southern Kofu, then walk to Choshizuka Burial Mound (銚子塚古墳) and Maruyamazuka Burial Mound (丸山塚古墳), which remain in the adjacent Sone Hills Park (曽根丘陵公園). Move straight on to Kose Sports Park, play on the lawn plaza and the large playground equipment, and then have lunch. Standing under the water cascading down the steps first thing in the afternoon blows the heat away. Since it is a spacious park lined with an athletics stadium and a gymnasium, you can also relax on the lawn after the water play.
Schedule
An archaeology museum on Kai Fudoki-no-Oka: meeting Jomon pottery and clay figurines
Right beside the museum: climb a large nationally designated burial mound and survey the basin
A round of play on the large playground equipment before the water, then lunch on the lawn
All-out water play at the Craft Tower, where water cascades down terraced steps
