2026 Misaka Togenkyo Park Water Play Plaza / Splash Pond: A Full-Day Course
A relaxed, close-to-home day built around the Misaka Togenkyo Park Water Play Plaza / Splash Pond in Fuefuki City. The water play plaza opens in summer and the splash pond is about 35 cm deep, with a small stream also flowing through the grounds. The park is open 8:30 to 20:00 from April to September and 8:30 to 18:00 from October to March, and admission is free. The splash pond period has not been announced yet (usually summer), so check the official Fuefuki City website for the latest information before you set out. The spacious 40,000-square-meter grounds include a lawn area, play equipment such as slides and adventure structures, and walking paths for forest bathing, so there is plenty to do after the water play. In the morning you meet many Jomon clay figurines at the Shakado Ruins Museum (釈迦堂遺跡博物館), which stands beside the Shakado Parking Area on the Chuo Expressway. Then at the Kai Kokubunji Temple Ruins (甲斐国分寺跡) you walk among the foundation stones of a great Nara-period temple and touch the older layers of this basin. It is a course with comfortable distances through the peach-orchard scenery that is so typical of Fuefuki City.
