2026 Manriki Park (万力公園) Babbling Brook Plaza / Waterside Plaza: A Full-Day Course
A course for a full day close to home, built around the Manriki Park Babbling Brook Plaza / Waterside Plaza in Manriki Park (万力公園), also known as Manyo Forest, which spreads along the Fuefukigawa River (笛吹川) in Yamanashi City. It is a water-friendly plaza using the shallows of the stream that runs through the park; the park is open 24 hours and use is free. However, the water play period has not been announced, so check the park official website for the latest information before you set out. The grounds include a combination play structure in the Children's Plaza, five lawn areas, the Petting Animal Plaza, the ornamental fountain plaza Fuefuki-no-Izumi (Fuefuki Spring), a roller skating rink, and even a barbecue area, offering more than you could play through in a single day. In the morning, look out over the flow of the Fuefukigawa River from the scenic Sashide-no-Iso, praised in the Manyoshu (万葉集), then visit the Nezu Memorial Hall (根津記念館), the birthplace of the industrialist known as the Railway King. In the afternoon, enter Manriki Park to meet the animals and continue straight to the Babbling Brook Plaza. With plenty of shade from the pine grove, this park stays relatively comfortable even in midsummer.
