2026 Fukumitsu Park Wading Pool: Full-Day Course
This one-day course centers on the Fukumitsu Park Wading Pool (children's pool) in Fukumitsu Park (初日町2丁目18) in the Nagara-nishi district of Gifu City. In 2026 it opens on a total of 18 days between July 21 and August 21, from 13:00 to 16:00. Use is free, and it is intended in principle for children in the third grade of elementary school and younger. Preschoolers must be accompanied by a guardian, and infants who are not out of diapers cannot use it. Opening days follow the schedule published by Gifu City, so be sure to check before you set out. In bad weather a red flag is raised at the wading pool and it closes for the day. In the morning, lose yourself in the world of books at Minna no Mori Gifu Media Cosmos with its striking wooden roof, then learn about 1,300 years of cormorant fishing culture at the Nagaragawa Ukai Museum. Both are indoors, so spending the hot morning in cool comfort is the strength of this course. In the afternoon, wade knee-deep in the shallow water of the Fukumitsu Park wading pool and play to your heart's content.
