2026 Kinryu Park Wading Pool: Full-Day Course
This one-day course centers on the Kinryu Park Wading Pool (children's pool) in Kinryu Park (田端町1-10) in the Bairin district of Gifu City. In 2026 it opens on a total of 31 days between July 21 and August 30, from 13:00 to 16:00. Use is free, and it is intended in principle for children in the third grade of elementary school and younger. Preschoolers must be accompanied by a guardian, and infants who are not out of diapers cannot use it. Opening days follow the schedule published by Gifu City, so be sure to check before you set out. In bad weather a red flag is raised at the wading pool and it closes for the day. In the morning, take the Kinkazan Ropeway to the summit and take in the Nobi Plain and the Nagara River from the observation deck of Gifu Castle. For lunch, come back down and eat while cooling off under the arcade of the Yanagase Shopping Street. In the afternoon, play knee-deep in the shallow water of the Kinryu Park wading pool. It is an ambitious, summery plan that packs a view from high above and water play into a single day.
