Full-Day Course at Soden-naka Park Wading Pool 2026
This is a one-day course built around the Soden-naka Park Wading Pool (早田中公園 徒渉池), a children's pool in Soden-naka Park (早田中公園) at 栄新町1丁目42 in the Soden district of Gifu City. In 2026 it opens on a total of 23 days between July 21 and August 12, from 13:00 to 16:00. Use is free, and it is intended in principle for children in the third grade of elementary school or younger. Preschoolers must be accompanied by a guardian, and infants who are not yet out of diapers cannot use it. Opening days follow the schedule published by Gifu City, so be sure to check before you set out. In bad weather a red flag is raised at the wading pool and it is cancelled for that day. In the morning, ride up to the observation room of Gifu City Tower 43 in front of JR Gifu Station and look out over the Nobi Plain and Mount Kinka (金華山) for free. Then stop by Entokuji Temple (円徳寺), tied to Oda Nobunaga's rakuichi-rakuza policy, and get a sense of how the town came to be. Have lunch near Gifu Station, and in the afternoon soak in the shallow water of the wading pool at Soden-naka Park.
Schedule

A sweeping view of the Nobi Plain and Mount Kinka from a free observation room
An old temple in the town center known for its rakuichi-rakuza edict board
