Full-Day Course at Hikari Park Wading Pool 2026

This is a one-day course built around the Hikari Park Wading Pool (光公園 徒渉池), a children's pool in Hikari Park (光公園) at 光町3丁目9 in the Soden district of Gifu City. In 2026 it opens on a total of 18 days between July 21 and August 15, from 13:00 to 16:00. Use is free, and it is intended in principle for children in the third grade of elementary school or younger. Preschoolers must be accompanied by a guardian, and infants who are not yet out of diapers cannot use it. Opening days follow the schedule published by Gifu City, so be sure to check before you set out. In bad weather a red flag is raised at the wading pool and it is cancelled for that day. In the morning, look quietly at the works in the Gifu Prefectural Museum of Art (岐阜県美術館), then get absorbed in exhibits you can touch and move at the Gifu City Science Museum (岐阜市科学館). Both are indoors and air-conditioned, so the strength of this course is spending the hottest morning hours in comfort. In the afternoon, soak in the shallow water of the Hikari Park wading pool and move your body to your heart's content.
