2026 Kutsukake Park Wading Pool (沓掛公園 徒渉池): A Full Day Course
This one-day course puts the spotlight on the Kutsukake Park Wading Pool for Children (沓掛公園 徒渉池), located in Kutsukake Park in the Nagamori-kita district of Gifu City (長森本町1丁目9). In 2026 it opens on a total of 19 days between July 21 and August 9, from 13:00 to 16:00. Use is free of charge, and it is intended in principle for children up to the third grade of elementary school. Preschool children must be accompanied by a guardian, and infants who are not yet out of diapers may not use it. The opening days follow the schedule published by Gifu City, so be sure to check it before you set out. In bad weather a red flag is raised at the wading pool and it closes for that day. In the morning, visit Tejikarao Shrine, an easy walk away, and take in the calm air of a precinct famous for the spirited Tejikara Fire Festival. After that, head to Kakamigahara Civic Park in neighboring Kakamigahara City for lunch on the broad lawn under the trees. In the afternoon, spend a summer afternoon at the Kutsukake Park wading pool, soaking in the shallow water.
