2026 Iwatanishi Park Wading Pool Full-Day Course

This is a one-day course centered on the Iwatanishi Park Wading Pool (岩田西公園 徒渉池), a childrens pool in Iwatanishi Park (岩田西1丁目775) in the Iwa district of Gifu City. In 2026 it opens on a total of 23 days between July 22 and August 22, from 13:00 to 16:00. Use is free, and it is intended in principle for children up to the third grade of elementary school. Preschoolers must be accompanied by a guardian, and infants still in diapers cannot use it. Opening days follow the schedule published by Gifu City, so be sure to check before you set out. In bad weather a red flag is raised at the wading pool and that day is cancelled. In the morning, enjoy a walk at the foot of Aikawa Bridge (藍川橋) over the Nagara River (長良川), taking in the broad riverbed and the line of mountains. Then move on to Gifu City Livestock Center Park to spend a relaxed time with the pasture animals and the lawn, and have lunch there. In the afternoon, round off the summer day soaking in the shallow water of the Iwatanishi Park wading pool.
